Curriculum Update

Word Work for this Week:

Spelling patterns: - et (ex: met, pets, petting)

                            - ell (ex: tell, spell, yellow)

Accountable words: went, best

Math:

This week we will be taking a look at fact families and related facts.  We will also use addition facts to find subtraction facts.   

Writing:

In writing this week we looked at the endings of our stories and how to wrap up our writing pieces.  We will find a writing piece to publish and start the process of publishing.  

Social Studies:

We are talking about the holiday Thanksgiving. We are comparing Thanksgiving now to the "First Thanksgiving."

Reading:

Your child will learn about how to use parts of words to help them solve new words, and they will watch out for unusual words.    

Things to know:

• Six Flags Reading Logs went home on Friday and they are due February 2.  In order to receive a Six Flags ticket your child will need to read six hours and complete the form.  
• Veterans Day is Friday! Please have your child wear red, white and blue.
